Your answer
Very little of this is permanent. Don't decide alone in either direction, and never stop a psychiatric medication to qualify.
General education about how licensed programs screen. Not a screening, not medical advice, and not a complete list. Whether natural medicine is appropriate for you is determined through screening with a licensed facilitator. Legal in Colorado under the Natural Medicine Health Act for adults 21+; psilocybin remains federally Schedule I. Never start, stop, or change a medication without consulting your prescriber.
What this check does
Colorado's licensed psilocybin programs screen everyone before a session. This check uses the same two lists FRTC's facilitators work from: firm rule-outs, which mean not now, and conversations, which mean yes with a more careful setup. Tick what applies and you get one of three answers: nothing here stands in the way, yes with a more careful setup, or not yet. You can print the result and bring it to a consultation.

Questions
Who cannot do psilocybin therapy in Colorado?
Colorado's program is for adults 21 and older. Licensed programs generally rule out a session for schizophrenia or another primary psychotic disorder, bipolar I or any history of mania or psychosis, current psychosis or mania, active suicidality or a recent attempt, pregnancy or breastfeeding, lithium, MAOIs, unstable heart disease, an uncontrolled seizure disorder, and anyone who can't consent freely. Several of these are temporary.
Can I do psilocybin therapy if I take an antidepressant?
Usually, yes. Antidepressants are not a firm rule-out: SSRIs, SNRIs, mirtazapine, antipsychotics, tramadol and stimulants are timing questions for your prescriber. Lithium and MAOIs are the firm medication rule-outs. Never stop a psychiatric medication to qualify.
Is this a screening?
No. It is general education about how licensed programs screen, so you know which parts of your history to raise first. Whether natural medicine is appropriate for you is decided through a screening with a licensed facilitator.
