A structured, multi-session psilocybin journey series under Colorado's Natural Medicine Program
State-Licensed · Colorado Natural Medicine Health Act

The Psilocybin Journey Series

Some of the deepest work isn't a single experience — it's a structured course. Two guided journeys, a measured step up in dose, and integration between: the shape behind the most durable research in psilocybin-assisted therapy.

Built as a Series Two journeys, with integration between — not a one-off
Escalating Dose A measured step up on the second journey
Integration Between Time to consolidate before going deeper
Clinician-Led Guided by a licensed clinical facilitator (LCSW)

Why a series, not a single session

A single psilocybin journey can be genuinely transformative. But for depression and other deep-rooted patterns, the research is clearest when the work is structured as a course rather than a one-off. In one large trial, a single dose produced a strong antidepressant effect at three weeks that had faded by twelve. In the trial with the most durable results, participants did two sessions — the second at a higher dose — and response and remission were still holding a full year later.

The Journey Series is built around that model: a first journey to open the work, an integration interval to let it settle, and a second journey that steps up in dose based on how you responded. It's a clinician-led, evidence-informed way to give the process the room it often needs — with a third journey available if the work calls for it.

The Research Behind a Multi-Session Approach

Peer-reviewed trials point to a structured, multi-session model as the one with the most durable results for depression. The findings are promising and still emerging; outcomes vary by individual.

How the Series Works

Two structured journeys with an integration interval between — each journey a complete cycle of preparation, administration, and integration.

01

Preparation & First Journey

Screening and a preparation session to build trust and set intentions, then your first administration session with your facilitator present throughout — followed by two integration sessions to begin making meaning of what surfaced.

Prep · Journey 1 · 2 integration
02

Second Journey

Two to four weeks later, a second administration session at a measured step up in dose, informed by how you responded the first time. The interval lets the first experience settle and shapes intentions for going deeper — the cadence used in the clinical trials.

Higher-dose Journey 2 · 2–4 weeks later
03

Deeper Integration

Two further integration sessions after the second journey — the stretch where insight becomes durable change. Integration is where the most lasting gains consolidate, and the series is built to give it real room.

2 integration sessions

An optional third journey

For some, two journeys complete the work. For others, a third — booked as a continuation once the second has been integrated — extends the arc. It's always a shared decision between you and your facilitator, never automatic. The series is a structure that serves the work, not a fixed number you're obligated to finish.

The Shape of the Series

Seven guided touchpoints across two journeys — one preparation, two administration sessions at an escalating dose, and four integration sessions, where the experience becomes lasting change.

Four integration sessions — two after each journey — because lasting change is built between and after the journeys, not only during them.

Pricing

The series bundles two complete journeys, with a returning-participant rate for continuing later.

The Journey Series · Two Journeys
$5,000
Two journeys, four integration sessions, escalating dose — product & facility included
Two Guided Journeys — two administration sessions (up to 7 hours each) with your facilitator present throughout, preceded by a preparation session to build trust and set intentions.
Four Integration Sessions — two after each journey, so insight has room to become lasting change. This is where the deepest work happens.
Escalating, Individualized Dose — the second journey steps up based on your response to the first, within your facilitator's clinical judgment.
Product & Healing Center — state-regulated psilocybin and use of the licensed facility are included for both journeys.

Two separate journeys also run $5,000 — but include just two integration sessions. The series is the same price with two more integration sessions (a $350 value) and the escalating-dose cadence built in.

Single Journey
$2,500
One complete journey — preparation, administration, and integration. The place most people start.
Returning-Participant Journey
$2,250
For a second or continued journey booked within 12 months of your last. You're already screened, so preparation is lighter — and so is the price. After 12 months it's treated as a new single journey. Also the rate for an optional third journey.

Insurance: Natural medicine services are not currently covered by insurance. Payment is arranged before each administration session.

Superbill: Available for preparation and integration sessions for potential out-of-network reimbursement, depending on your plan.

HSA/FSA: These funds may be used toward natural medicine services. Consult your plan administrator.

Deposit & cancellation: A $500 deposit reserves each session day and applies toward your fee. See our deposit & cancellation policy for details.

Who the Series Is For

A structured course suits some goals better than a single session. Eligibility is always confirmed through screening.

Depression that hasn't fully lifted

Especially where a single experience helped but the effect faded, or where standard treatments haven't gone far enough. The most durable trial data comes from a two-session model.

Deep, sustained work

When your goals call for more than one experience — building on a first journey rather than hoping it does everything at once.

People who've journeyed before

If you've completed a first journey and want to continue, the series (or a returning-participant journey) is the natural next step.

Important: Psilocybin services are not appropriate for everyone, and a series is not right for every candidate. A thorough screening precedes any session — psilocybin is generally not recommended with a personal or family history of psychosis or certain other conditions, and some medications require review. No outcome can be guaranteed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about the multi-session journey series.

Why a Series
Why more than one journey?
The most durable research outcomes for depression come from a two-session structure rather than a single dose. In a large single-dose trial, the antidepressant effect was strong at three weeks but not sustained at twelve weeks (Goodwin et al., NEJM 2022) — while a two-session, escalating-dose protocol showed response and remission holding at twelve months (Gukasyan et al., 2022). A structured series is designed to build and consolidate, not just spark. Results vary by individual, and this is still an emerging field.
How far apart are the journeys?
Typically two to four weeks. That interval gives the first experience time to settle and gives us integration time to work with what came up and shape intentions for the second journey — the same spacing used in the clinical trials.
Why does the second dose go up?
In the trial with the strongest durability data, the second session used a higher dose than the first (Davis et al., JAMA Psychiatry 2021). Stepping up on the second journey — guided by how you responded the first time — lets us start conservatively and go deeper once we know how you metabolize the experience. The exact dose is a clinical decision made with you.
Is escalating the dose allowed under Colorado law?
Yes. Colorado's rules set minimum session lengths that scale with dose and require every dose to meet generally accepted professional standards of practice. A measured step up across journeys sits well within that framework, and your facilitator holds the clinical judgment for it.
Practical Details
Do I have to commit to the whole series upfront?
No. Many people begin with a single journey and decide afterward whether to continue. The series is offered as a package for those who want to commit to the fuller course — and there's a returning-participant rate for anyone who completes one journey and comes back for the next.
What if two journeys turn out to be enough?
That's a good outcome. The series is a structure, not an obligation to keep going. If you and your facilitator agree the work is complete, it's complete. A third journey is available as an optional continuation, never a requirement.
How much does the series cost?
The two-journey series is $5,000 — one preparation session, two administration sessions at an escalating dose, and four integration sessions, plus all product and facility costs. Two separate single journeys would also run $5,000, but include only two integration sessions total; the series folds in two additional integration sessions (a $350 value) and a coordinated, escalating-dose cadence. A returning-participant journey (booked within 12 months of your last) is $2,250 — booked more than 12 months later, it's treated as a new single journey ($2,500). Additional integration sessions are $175 each. Services are not covered by insurance, though superbills and HSA/FSA use may apply.
Is this different from bringing a partner to journey with me?
Yes. This series is one person doing two journeys over time. Journeying alongside a partner in a single shared session is a separate offering — see our psilocybin for couples page for that.
