Every DBT-LBC Certified Program, on One Map
The DBT-Linehan Board of Certification publishes a list of certified programs, but not where they are. This is that list with the geography put back: all 33 programs, every U.S. state, and what certification actually requires.
- 33 DBT-LBC certified programs exist in the U.S. and Canada as of October 19, 2026 — 30 in 16 U.S. states plus DC, 3 in Canada.
- 34 U.S. states have no certified program. Across the 14 states of the Mountain West, Southwest and Plains, there is one.
- Colorado's only DBT-LBC certified program is Front Range Treatment Center (FRTC) in Greenwood Village, in the Denver metro. Its adult comprehensive DBT program is available by telehealth statewide.
- Certification is independent and checkable: the DBT-LBC directory is the source of record for every row on this page.
Where the Certified Programs Are

What the Map Shows
33 certified programs serve two countries. In the United States they sit in 16 states and the District of Columbia; 34 states have none.
The programs cluster where you would expect: the Pacific coast, the upper Midwest, the Northeast corridor, and a line down the Southeast. Between those clusters is the part of the map worth looking at. Across the 14 states of the Mountain West, Southwest and Plains — from Montana to Texas, Nevada to Kansas — there is one certified program, and it is in Colorado. The other 13 have none.
That is not a judgment on the DBT delivered elsewhere. Plenty of good programs never pursue certification, which costs money and demands infrastructure a small practice may not have. But it does mean that for most of the country, "DBT-LBC certified" is not something you can find nearby, and knowing that up front changes how you search: by telehealth reach, not by driving distance.

What Program Certification Requires
Program certification is an audit of the whole operation against the comprehensive Linehan model, not a course a therapist takes.
To be listed, a program has to show that all four modes of DBT run together: weekly individual therapy, a weekly skills class, between-session coaching, and a weekly therapist consultation team. Reviewers code recorded sessions for adherence using the same rubrics the original trials used, confirm the consultation team is structured and attended as the model requires, and conduct a site visit. The program's team lead holds individual DBT-LBC certification. Certification is renewed on a cycle, so the list is of programs currently certified, not programs that once were.
That is why the list is short. Most clinics that offer DBT deliver part of it, usually a skills class alongside individual therapy, without coaching or a consultation team. Certification confirms the parts clients cannot see.

DBT-LBC Certified Programs in Colorado
Front Range Treatment Center (FRTC) in Greenwood Village, in the Denver metro, is the only DBT-LBC certified program in Colorado — and the only one in the Mountain West, Southwest and Plains.
Our adult comprehensive DBT program — all four modes — is delivered by telehealth anywhere in Colorado, so a client in Grand Junction, Durango or Fort Collins is in the same program as one in Denver. The teen program is a mix: individual therapy and parent sessions can be remote, and the teen skills group meets in person in Greenwood Village. We do not treat clients outside Colorado; licensure stops at the state line.
