OCD Treatment
What Happens Next: OCD Treatment
OCD has a specific treatment that works — exposure and response prevention (ERP) — and you just asked for it. Here’s the sequence.
The sequence, start to finish
From the moment your message arrives to the work itself. Steps marked optional are yours to skip.
-
Step 1
We read it, and reply
A real person on our team reads your message and replies within one business day — by email, or by text if you opted in. If you asked a question, you get an answer. If you’re ready to get scheduled, we help you do that.
-
Step 2 Optional
Want to talk it through first?A free fifteen-minute phone call, no commitment. We call you at the time you choose. Useful for working out whether CBT is the right fit, or asking what you didn’t want to type. Email works just as well if you’d rather.
-
Step 3
Paperwork, then your first appointment
Before your first appointment a secure client-portal link arrives by email with the intake forms — do them on your phone in about ten minutes. Most people have a first appointment within one to two weeks.
-
Step 4
An assessment, then a plan
Your first sessions are for understanding OCD in your life specifically — what sets it off, what keeps it going, what you’ve already tried. Then you and your therapist agree on a plan with a clear direction.
-
Step 5
Weekly sessions, built for your needs
Weekly, in person or online anywhere in Colorado. You get the evidence-based form of CBT that fits what you’re dealing with, practiced between sessions where it counts. You’ll know what you’re working on and why.
Good to know
- Diagnosis
- You don’t need a referral or a diagnosis to start.
- Current therapist
- When you join, your therapist here becomes your individual therapist, so your current individual therapy needs to end, at the latest by the end of pretreatment (your first few sessions here). We’ll talk through the details with you. Why one therapist at a time.
- Insurance
- We accept Colorado Medicaid through Colorado Access and Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP). For other insurance we’re out-of-network and provide superbills for potential reimbursement. HSA and FSA funds accepted. Billing details.
- Crisis
- If you’re ever in crisis, call or text 988, or go to the nearest emergency room. We’re not a crisis service.
