Child DBT (DBT-C)
What Happens Next: Child DBT (DBT-C)
The best news about this program: it starts with you, not your child. You don’t have to convince anyone to come in. Here’s how it unfolds.
The sequence, start to finish
From the moment your message arrives to the work itself. Steps marked optional are yours to skip.
-
Step 1
We read it, and reply
A real person on our team reads your message and replies within one business day — by email, or by text if you opted in. If you asked a question, you get an answer. If you’re ready to get scheduled, we help you do that.
-
Step 2 Optional
Want to talk it through first?A free fifteen-minute phone call, no commitment. We call you at the time you choose. Useful for working out whether Child DBT is the right fit, or asking what you didn’t want to type. Email works just as well if you’d rather.
-
Step 3
Paperwork, then your first appointment
Before your first appointment a secure client-portal link arrives by email with the intake forms — do them on your phone in about ten minutes. Most people have a first appointment within one to two weeks.
-
Step 4
You meet your therapist first
The first sessions are with you (and your co-parent, if there is one). You describe what’s happening at home; your therapist starts teaching the skills and how to coach them in the moment.
-
Step 5
Weekly sessions, your child joins when it helps
Sessions are weekly, in person or online. Your child joins occasionally, as your therapist decides — there are no children’s groups and nobody has to sit still for an hour. Most families work together for about six months.
Good to know

- Insurance
- We accept Colorado Medicaid through Colorado Access and Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP). For other insurance we’re out-of-network and provide superbills for potential reimbursement. HSA and FSA funds accepted. Billing details.
- Crisis
- If you’re ever in crisis, call or text 988, or go to the nearest emergency room. We’re not a crisis service.

Step one is a message. You don’t have to explain anything you’re not ready to.
